Abstract

This paper explores the importance of integrating criminal justice education into the learning experiences of Generation Z, emphasizing its relevance beyond students pursuing law or criminology. In an era where justice issues are increasingly discussed through digital platforms, young Filipinos exhibit growing awareness but often lack a grounded understanding of the justice system’s structure and function. The study highlights the need for early, accessible, and practical education on legal concepts—covering topics such as individual rights, juvenile justice, cybercrime, and the roles of legal institutions. Drawing on recent data and national initiatives, including CHED’s enrollment reports and DepEd’s “Peace and Order Literacy Initiative,” the paper advocates for experiential learning approaches within schools and communities. It proposes youth-centered strategies such as workshops, guest lectures, student-led campaigns, and digital media integration to make legal education more engaging. Ultimately, the paper argues that criminal justice education is vital not just to prepare future professionals, but to cultivate informed, responsible, and justice-oriented citizens among today’s youth.
